Buchu Leaves refers to a plant originated in Southern Africa and it was used for anointing bodies. These leaves are smooth and perennial shrubs that are purplish brown in color and are in 2 to 3 feet height. They bear flowers in pink or white color. Buchu leaves paste is also useful to be applied on the skin as these leaves when combined with oil can be used as perfume. The buchu leaves improve appetite as well as relieves gas and nausea. It is principally used to cure irritable conditions in the urethra and inflammation in the bladder. Buchu is useful in treating rheumatism and gout.

Juniper berries is also added with Gin, the alcoholic drink to get a unique aroma. Juniper berries are soft to touch and should be stored in cool places in airtight container. Juniper berries blends with spices and herbs especially sage, thyme, bay leaves, oregano, garlic and onions.
